Senior Associate – Infrastructure Design

The Role
The Role involves implementing and driving the design and construction of all urban and highway infrastructure for the 4, 500 ha, multi-billion AED (Dirham) Capital District of Abu Dhabi to the highest possible level of economic, social and environmental sustainability. Specific areas include power, water, storm water, sanitary sewer, roads, pedestrian improvements, street lighting, telecommunications, highway interchanges, traffic management, transit, light rail and intelligent transportation systems, solid waste collection and recycling, public realm including sidewalks, parks, landscaping, landscape irrigation and street furniture.
Successful candidate will work with the Capital District Project Management Consultant, Lead Design Consultant and its team of specialist and design consultants in close liaison with UPC staff, external agencies, and stakeholders to achieve the best possible sustainable design and construction outcomes for the project. The role requires the ability to interact with the local authorities, large design and project management teams.

Skills

The following professional skills are required:
• Familiarity with best international practice in relation to infrastructure design and implementation,
• Ability to review reports, drawings and engineering calculations produced by design and other specialist consultants,
• Ability to monitor and implement best international sustainability practices in the infrastructure design,
• Strong project and design management skills,


Desired Experience

Minimum of 10 years of recent design and design management experience in planning of infrastructure of complete communities and urban centers.
Experience in design coordination and implementation of large, high value projects.
Experience in value management and value engineering.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
